14-year-old raped by two including a minor in Meghalaya

Angry villagers in East Garo Hills district thrashed two people including a minor and later handed them over to the police for allegedly raping a 14-year old girl. The incident took place on April 27 at about 3:30 pm when they waylaid the girl on her way back home from school. The girl was taken to the hospital after the incident and the family members filed a case against the two accused.
Beggar and his kin jailed for rape of runaway teen

After a fight with her mom, a 14-year old girl from Parel left her home in 2013 and ended up in a remote village outside Satara. She was kidnapped by a woman who forced her to marry her 27-year old nephew who had already been wedded twice. The child was tortured and forced to beg and returned back to her mother in 2015 after a neighbor gave her some money. The accused repeatedly abused her and after she narrated the ordeal to her mother, an FIR was filed and within five days all three accused were arrested. The man was sentenced to ten years in jail, while his aunt and mother were sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment by a special court.
60-year-old Mumbai man, in jail for sexual assault, molested five other minors too

Five minor girls in the age group of 7 to 9 years accused Aslam Momin – a 60-year old powerloom labourer of molesting them for many days. The accused was already in jail on molestation charge. One of the girls had narrated the incident to some friends, who then informed the parents and the complaint was lodged. During investigation, the police found that Momin had molested the minor girls and threatened them of dire consequences if they told anyone about it. He had threatened to kill their parents and had showed them a sharp weapon.
Accused in minor’s rape gives cops the slip for over a month

RK Mahale, an employee of the fisheries department and an accused has managed to give a slip to the cops for over a month. The case was filed against him for raping a 14-year old multiple times, and against the aunt of the minor girl who forced her into prostitution. The complaint was filed after the police received an anonymous letter mentioning about the case. The case was first reported a year ago in an anonymous letter to the police station However, at that time the girl had denied that she was forced into prostitution by her aunt or was raped. Later in 2017, again a letter in this regard was received by the office of DGP after which superintendent of police (North) was asked to probe the matter.

A 60-year old man was arrested for sexually abusing a minor and her grandmother. The accused identified as Vikraman of Kadinamkulam was arrested in connection with an incident when he barged into the victim’s house.
In another case, a 27-year old accused – Moncy of Pambukala was arrested by the police for a sexual abuse that had taken place two years ago during his birthday party and had remained absconding since then. He was apprehended by the police when he was spotted in his home town.

A 37-year old man was sentenced to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment for sexually abusing his 8-year old son over a period of five years. The complaint was lodged by the wife of the convict against her husband and mother-in-law, who had prevented her from approaching the police and threatened her. According the complainant mother, her husband had also molested a girl living in the neighborhood in 2007 when she and her husband had gone to her maternal home in Solapur. The girl’s family members had then beaten up her husband and a case was also registered. The same is pending in Solapur court.
Two detained for sexually assaulting mentally ill boy

Two minors, 15 and 17-year olds, were detained by the police and sent to the correction home after it was found that they had sexually abused a 15-year old mentally challenged boy and recorded the video of the act. The video recording went viral and reached in the hands of the victim’s parents who were shocked and then decided to file complaint. The medical examination of the boy confirmed unnatural act.
50-yr-old man gets life sentence for rape, murder of minor girl

Additional sessions judge N G Gimekar sentenced Sudam Babuwan Suryawanshi, a 50-year old man to life imprisonment for the rape and murder of a 17-year old girl. The incident took place in November 2015. Suryawanshi was working at the victim’s family farm when he saw the girl and hit her on the head with a rod. He raped her once she felt unconscious. When she regained consciousness and tried to fight back, he hit on her head again, killing her. He then dragged her to a nearby lake and fled the spot.

Police have booked a man for raping his 12-year old step daughter multiple times at their Perumbavoor home. The incident came to light when the girl revealed the ordeal to her mother, who then intimated Childline officials. The police registered an FIR but didn’t arrest the accused. The mother of the girl had married the suspect after her former husband died.

Dinesh Panchal, a 32-year old man who was out on bail in case of sexual abuse registered against him in 2015 was arrested by the police for sexually abusing a 6-year old girl. The victim, who is Panchal’s neighbor, was playing with friends outside her house when he lured her inside her house with an ice lolly and sexually assaulted her. He then gave her the lolly and let her go. When the victim’s parents asked her who gave the lolly, she told them what happened. The parents then reported the matter to the police.

A 21-year old accused identified as Sreeram was arrested by Kilimanoor police for sexually exploiting a 15-year old girl. The arrest came two weeks after the girl was found hanging dead in her residence. The post-mortem revealed that she had been sexually exploited.

A daily wage labourer – a 22-year old man named Vijay abducted and sexually assaulted a 3-year old girl who lived some distance away from her. The 5-year old elder sister of the victim left home to buy something when the 3-year old – her sister – fell behind while following her. The victim then started playing outside and was sitting on the stairs of the house. The accused then took her to his rented house where he sexually assaulted the girl. Upon hearing her screams, the neighbors came running in, beat up the accused and handed him over to the police.

Quack rapes class XI student in Sambhal, arrested

A 15-year old girl was raped by a quack she had visited for treatment of abdominal pain. He then injected her with sedatives and raped her when she lost consciousness. When the girl didn’t reach home after many hours, her family members arrived at the quack’s place to find her lying there. The accused had fled the scene. The accused, identified as Horam Singh was arrested and booked after a complaint was filed by the girl’s father.

Auto driver tries to kidnap 7-year-old, nabbed

The police arrested K. Gunasekaran, a 42-year old auto driver for trying to kidnap a 7-year old girl. The Class III student was riding her cycle on the road and her cycle chain had come off in front of a restaurant. He tried to repair it, picked up a conversation with her and pulled her cheek. However, the girl, in her statement, said when Gunasekaran compelled her to sit in his auto, she ran away in fear and told her parents, who informed the police.

Two instances of sexual assault on minors were reported in Jaipur in three days. In one instance, a 4-year old girl was raped in her house by a domestic help in the Manak Chowk area whereas a 6-year old sleeping next to her mother on a pavement in the Mansarovar locality was abducted and assaulted by an unindentified person. The accused – the domestic help at the child’s hose in the first case was arrested whereas the accused in the second instance is yet to be arrested.
5 Arrested For Sexually Abusing Differently-Abled Students In Coimbatore

The founder of a school for special children along with four others has been arrested for sexually abusing differently-abled girl students. The incident was brought to light by two former students who were subject to sexual abuse several times, resulting in both becoming pregnant and being forced to abort in a private hospital in 2012.
Shahdara tailor rapes 21-month-old neighbor

The accused – a tailor by profession confessed of raping his neighbor’s 21-month old daughter. He saw the toddler outside the home and took her along on the pretext of getting some sweets. The child kept crying when her dropped her home. Her mother checked her for injuries and realised that her private parts were bleeding. She then rushed her to hospital. The doctors confirmed that she had been raped and informed the police.
4-year-old girl molested in school cab, driver arrested

A 4-year old nursery student was subject to repeated sexual assault by a school cab driver while ferrying her to and from her school in Model Town. The incident came to light after the girl resisted going to school for some days and shared the trauma with her parents after they insisted. The accused – Shankar – was arrested within hours after the parents filed the complaint. The school cab did not have female attendant travelling with the children nor did it have a video recorder which is mandatory for school vehicles as per court order. The girl was sent for medical examination and is being counseled by experts to help her cope with the trauma.
Boy molested in library, suspect on the run

The police are looking for an unidentified person for molesting a 14-year old boy at a municipal library. The incident happened when the boy was at the reading hall on the first floor of the library. The boy shared the incident with his parents who then lodged a complaint.

After a police investigation, it was revealed that an 8-year old girl was sexually abusing a 7-year old girl at a state-run girls’ orphanage. On further questioning, it came to light that the 8-year old was a victim of rape herself and according to her statement to the police, brother told her that it was good for health. The culprit she referred to as ‘brother’ or ‘bhaiyya’ was a peon from the orphanage she lived in earlier who was sexually abusing her for nearly two months. The 30-year old accused has been arrested. The eight year old girl is seeing counselors whereas the seven year old is in hospital.

Staff members of a correction home and minor inmates were booked by the police for showing obscene video clips to other minor inmates. The incident occurred sometime between 2010 and December 2015 and came to light when the minors were shifted to an orphanage and the secretary there- Vilas Pandhare noticed a strange behavior among those children. The students narrated the incident to Mr. Pandhare after counseling and he immediately informed the woman and child welfare commissioner’s office and other offices in Pune about the incident.

A POCSO court sentenced three youths – Mahesh Masmare (20), Naresh Batra (28) and Gondya Bond (21) from the tribal of Vikramgadh to three years rigorous imprisonment for outraging the modesty of a 16-year old girl on the pretext of playing Holi in 2016. Another accused, a minor, has been referred to the juvenile justice board. The girl and another minor, a guest at her home went to fetch water from a well and on their way back, with pitchers on their head, the accused waylaid them and started to tease them saying they would drench her with the same water. The girl protested and pleaded not to do so, but they poured the water from the pitcher on her head. They caught hold of her hands and touched her inappropriately. The girl started crying, went home and narrated the incident to her parents who filed a complaint.

Zawar, a 51-year old man who runs a small farsan-producing unit at the outskirts of Nasik city was remanded to eight days police custody for raping a 4-year old girl. The victim’s mother was employed at Zawar’s production unit. The man offered to take the child out to buy her ice-cream and after dropping her back in an hour or so, the girl looked scared and was not behaving normally. The victim’s mother took her home and it emerged that she was sexually abused and bore injury marks. She was taken to the hospital where medical examination confirmed sexual abuse. The accused had fled the scene but was caught by the villagers.
Haryana 10-Year-Old Pregnant After Rape, Critically Ill

A 10-year old girl was found 5 months pregnant after being repeatedly raped by her stepfather. The girl’s condition was serious and the mother, a migrant labourer from Bihar, took her to a doctor where the pregnancy was confirmed. The girl then told her mother, that the accused – also her paternal uncle, had been sexually assaulting her and had threatened her against talking about it.
School owner held for raping daughter

The accused Kishor Kumar Jha, owner of an English-medium school where he teaches Mathematics was arrested by the police for sexually exploiting his daughter since past seven years. The crime came to light after his 20-year-old daughter, a first year BA student of IGNOU, submitted a written complaint to police. She also submitted a video clip (which she had candidly filmed) to the police along with the complaint.
Priest’s sons’ gang-rape 11-yr-old girl in temple premises

Two sons of a local priest lured an 11-year old girl to their room situated in the temple premises and gang raped her. A friend of the men made a video clip of the incident. The incident came to light when one of the sons was caught by locals in a compromising position in the temple premises drunk. As the woman claimed it was a consensual act, the police booked under section 294. Hours later, the 11-year-old’s parents approached the police claiming that priest’s sons — Amit and Nikki — had gang-raped their daughter nearly 15 days ago. Amit was arrested while Nikki is absconding.

Nataraj, 36, a shopkeeper was arrested for sexual abuse of a 10-year old minor. The accused lured the girl into his provision store offering chocolates and sexually abused her in the shop itself. On return from the shop, when the victim complained to her parents of abdominal pain at home, they took her to a doctor who examined her and confirmed that she was sexually assaulted. The victim’s parents filed a complaint and though the accused had fled from the shop, he was nabbed from his relative’s home.
Rohtak minor girl writes to cops, alleges rape, blackmail

A 17-year old girl has sent a letter to the police alleging that she was raped by two people at gunpoint. According to the letter received, the accused filmed the act and later blackmailed and threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed it to anyone. The police has appealed that the girl come forward as they could not locate her at the address mentioned in the letter and the two youths have denied committing the crime.

P. Selvam alias Subramaniam (45), a power loom unit owner at Palladam, and V. Rangaraj (41), a cousin of Selvam were awarded death sentence whereas M. Deivasikhamani (41), an industrial worker, K. Nagaraj (29), a power loom unit owner, and S. Anandan (27), a casual labourer, were sentenced to life imprisonment “till death” for the murder of a man and his 11-year old daughter in October 2015. The girl was sexually assaulted and burnt alive.
Tutor held for raping pupil, man arrested for assaulting daughter in UP’s Ghaziabad

In two separate incidents, a tutor was arrested for raping his pupil, while a man was held for raping his daughter. In the first incident, the man used to run a coaching centre and was found to be sexually assaulting a 15-year old student for quite some time. The incident came to light when the girl’s father raised concern about her deteriorating performance in studies and the traumatized girl narrated the ordeal to him who then approached the police.
In the other case, the accused – a 45-year old father was arrested for raping his daughter. He used to beat her up and threaten her against disclosing the abuse to anybody. The victim woman (who was a minor when the father first assaulted her) recorded the video clippings of the sexual abuse and narrated the story to the police.
Tutor held for sexually exploiting minor in flat

Arjun Batra, a 26-year old tutor was arrested by the police for raping a minor student. The father of the girl said that the tutor sexually exploited his daughter on the pretext of giving her coaching lessons and used to call her at odd hours. The accused was in contact with the victim for the past 7-8 months and according to a RWA member the accused had made objectionable video clips of the victim and was blackmailing her. However, the police have denied the presence of any such video clip.
Two arrested on charge of sexual assault in Kolar, Bengaluru

In two separate cases, two men were arrested for assaulting minor girls in Kolar and Bengaluru. In the Kolar case, a tea vendor was arrested for assaulting his minor daughter based on the complaint by the mother. The father was abusing his teenage daughter for over six months when his wife was away and warned against disclosing it to anyone.
In the second case, 35-year old Nataraj, a provision store owner was arrested for raping a 9-year old girl at his shop. Nataraj lured the girl inside her shop with chocolates and sexually assaulted her. When she returned home, the victim was bleeding and complained of a severe stomach ache. Her parents took her to the hospital, where the doctors informed them that she had been sexually assaulted. Following this, the complaint was lodged.

Ramzan, son of Ahmad Hasan, was arrested by the police for raping an 11-year old girl in Manglaur. The girl and her parents had come there to work as labourers. A ‘panchayat’ was reportedly held to solve the matter but the father of the victim filed a police complaint on May 13. The accused was on the run, but later was arrested by the police.

A boy student of Class 3 was killed after being sexually abused by a man from Mannanayakana Koppa village. The 9-year old boy had gone to the house of the accused to attend a feast. On his way back, the accused – Subhash, approached him on a motor bike and offered to get him some curry. He then took the boy to a forest area, raped him, smashed his private parts, strangulated him and killed him. The incident came to light after the boy’s father approached the police to file a missing person’s complaint. Subhash was a habitual offender, who has previously sexually abused many boy children in the village. A few villagers had also seen the boy riding pillion on Subhash’s motorbike, before he was reported missing. The police then arrested him.

After her first husband died, Anjali Tripathi remarried as she did not want her young son to grow without a father. After a year, the man started becoming violent and one day he left. After he was gone, the 14-year old revealed that his stepfather was sodomizing him. She used to find her son crying and hurt on his private parts. She filed a complaint with the police and an FIR was registered against the stepfather under the POCSO Act.

A 6-year old girl was raped by her mother’s live-in partner in an empty bungalow where he worked as a carpenter. Next day, a youth who lives in the victim’s building saw blood stains on the girl’s dress when she was being bathed by her mother. He even heard her when she was complaining about pain in her abdomen and private parts. While this was happening, he saw the accused signaling the victim not to open her mouth. He then called women’s helpline and the police. The victim opened up about the ordeal to the police. The accused too confessed to the crime.

The accused Sudhakar Koli, a 45-year old head constable with the Aurangabad rural police was arrested and suspended from his duties on charges of raping a 13-year old minor. According to the primary investigation, the accused head constable was showing interest in the minor for quite a while. One night, Koli contacted the minor’s father and asked him to go to the highway and look for a vehicle with a particular number. After sending the victim’s father away, the accused head constable reached her house and took her to a deserted neighbourhood, where he allegedly raped her by threatening her with dire consequences.
