Bengaluru Kendriya Vidyalaya principal sent on leave after sexual abuse plaint

Kumar Thakur, principal of a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Bengaluru was arrested after it emerged that he was sexually abusing and harassing girl students of Class 10 and 12. The principal claimed to be counselling girl students and asked them to come to his room, and met them alone for over half an hour to one hour. He was also found to send personal Whatsapp messages to girl students. The instance was reported by a school staff member who had called the child helpline. After getting out on bail, the school sent him on a long leave, but after much public outcry, the principal was suspended.

POCSO added to Bairagarh school kids sexual abuse case

The perpetrator, Ajay Sharma – a warden of government residential bridging school was booked under the POCSO Act after mounting pressure from child rights groups and parents. The incident was first reported to police on December 2 last year but police had refused to register the FIR despite 18 students visiting the police station to record their statements. Ajay Sharma was accused of sexually abusing 24 children in the age group of 6 to 11 years. He was also charged with touching them inappropriately and clicking their obscene pictures. The accused is said to be on the run.

Protect us from stepfather: MP sisters write about sexual abuse woes on wall

Two sisters, 9 and 11 year old, brought to notice their ordeal and cry for protection against their stepfather by scribbling messages on the outer wall of their shanty. The inscription was spotted by a passerby who notified Childline about the issue. The stepfather was unable to read the messages as he was illiterate. After the girls’ mother passed away, the stepfather began abusing the elder sister and beating up the younger one. The case was registered and the father was arrested.

Pune: School bus driver accused of sexually assaulting kid

A four year old school-going girl was sexually assaulted in Pune by the driver of a school bus. The driver and two women attendants were suspended after the incident was brought to notice of the school principal after the mother noticed that the behavior of the girl had changed. The girl told her mother about the incident and it then occurred that the driver had been using the principal’s name for committing the act and threatening the girl. The first accused was arrested.

Man sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for sexually assaulting minor girl

The convict, Sonu alias Jaane Alam was sentenced to five years imprisonment for sexually assaulting an 11-year old girl in December 2014 when she was alone in the house. The convict is an auto-rickshaw while the girl is a sixth standard student.

Mother, uncle serve jail time for sexually abusing daughter

The case dates back to 2009 and an FIR was registered on January 10, 2015. The father of the victim separated from the family after which the complainant noticed that her mother and uncle had developed a physical relationship. The minor girl reported the first incident to her mother in 2010, only for the mother to beat her and advise her to think of the uncle as her father. He made more sexual approaches towards the girl in 2012 and 2013. When he showed the minor a porn video of her mother, she narrated the incident to her father and brother who then registered the case in 2015. The court granted three years of rigorous imprisonment with fine of Rs 3,500 to the mother and also jailed the uncle for four years with fine of Rs 6,500.

Hyderabad: 12-year old minor raped in an old age home in Nagole

A 12-year old girl who was illegally employed at Akshaya Old Age Home at Nagole was sexually abused by the home managers for several months and tolerated the brutality without informing anyone about it. The issue came to light two days ago when her uncle, with whom she was staying, went to see her at the home and she complained of pain. Soon after the police complaint was registered and the trio was reportedly taken into custody.

Senior citizen held for sexual abuse of 9-year-old

The perpetrator – a 62-year old man was arrested for sexually abusing a nine-year old girl who took tuitions from his wife. The incident took place when the man’s wife went out for some work and girl was studying in the room. On the pretext of teaching, he molested her. The girl managed to escape and inform her parents, who then approached the police.

Krishna, a 72-year old carpenter was arrested for raping a minor and showing porn to the class 4 student before assaulting her. The 11-year old victim was assaulted several times at his residence over the several months.

15-Year-Old Pregnant After Alleged Repeated Rape By Guardian

After she was abandoned by her biological parents, the guardian who took custody of a 15-year old girl raped her for several months. The perpetrator – Krishnappa is a drunkard and a serial offender who had been arrested before assaulted and raped the girl who studied in Class 7. It was only after the minor girl became pregnant, villagers approached the police and the investigations started.

Missing girl, 7, found sexually attacked, killed

A 22-year old IT employee sexually assaulted and killed a seven-year old by luring her to his flat by promising to let her play with his dog. After the victim got there, the perpetrator S Tashvanth sexually abused her and accidentally gagged her to death. He then stuffed the girl’s body in a travel bag, took it to a desolate place and burned it beyond recognition.

5-Year-Old Girl Dies After Being Set Ablaze Near Bengaluru

The accused Satish is alleged of sexually abusing a five-year old girl and set her ablaze. The girl, who was Satish’s neighbor and went to his house to play with their baby, succumbed to injuries in the hospital. The police have registered a case of attempted murder but the parents allege that the police are pressurizing them to withdraw the complaint. According to the police, the accused was smoking and accidentally threw the match stick on the girl. The hospitals’ burn ward ruled out sexual abuse.

The minor, a 17-year old girl was raped and impregnated, delivered the baby and gave it up for adoption without the law enforcement agencies’ knowledge. The girl was raped by her neighbor Jay Sunil Anthony (20) between December 2015 and January 2016 and was booked for alleged sexual abuse almost a year later. Neither the adoption agency – Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kendra and the three doctors of the King Edward Memorial (KEM) hospital reported the case to the police, as is mandatory under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

32-year-old man convicted for sexually abusing a minor boy

The perpetrator – a 32 year old man was sentenced to five years of imprisonment for sexually abusing and trying to commit unnatural offence with a 10-year-old boy. The incident dates back to April 6, 2014 when the minor boy was standing outside his tuition point waiting for his elder brother to pick him up. The accused, Adil, called the boy in his room physically abused him and tried to commit unnatural offence. The boy raised an alarm which prompted locals who nabbed Adil and handed him over to the police.

Five-year-old sexually abused by watchman in Nalasopara

A 71-year old building watchman was arrested in Nalasopara after he took a five-year old girl to his cabin, made her sit on his lap and then began touching her inappropriately. The girl’s mother was alerted by a building resident who saw the sexual abuse after which the watchman was dragged to the police station by the residents.

Bihar Congress Leader Quits After Ex-Minister’s Daughter Alleges Sexual Abuse

Bihar Congress Vice-President Brajesh Kumar also known as Brajesh Pandey was booked in a case of sexual exploitation on the daughter of a former Congress minister who is a minor. Pandey’s name has been included in the case along with main accused Nikhil Priyadarshi, who allegedly duped the girl in the name of marriage and blackmailed her with his brother, another co-accused and the Congress leader. Priyadarshi and the other co-accused are absconding after a local court recently rejected their anticipatory bail.

Man flees after sodomising minor

A seven-year old boy was subjected to sexual abuse by a man lured the boy by promising to take him on a ride at a fair. The accused then took the boy and sodomised him, it has been alleged. The locals rushed to the spot after hearing the screams of the boy and the accused fled from the scene.

After the alleged sexual abuse of the children in the school, eight FIRs were filed against the abuser Manju, a staffer at the playschool. The principal, class teacher and an administrator at the school were also booked for abetment under POCSO as they dismissed the complaints from the abused children.

A Gurugram couple was arrested after it emerged that they were sexually abusing a 17-year old girl whom they had trafficked. The girl was sexually abused by the husband and the couple also forced her to work as a maid to earn for them. Initially the cops at the women’s police station in Sector 51 delayed filing the FIR by a day and also did not send the girl back to the shelter home on the intervening night. The girl was rescued by Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

Mumbai: Man sentenced to life for sexually abusing daughter

A 47-YEAR old man was sentenced to life imprisonment by a special court for sexually abusing his daughter when she was 17-year old. The victim told the court that her father touched her inappropriately when she was in class six. After the girl’s mother passed away when she was in class nine, her father would come home in a drunken state and sexually abuse her. The girl panicked one day after the father began beating her younger brother and called the police control room. At the police station, she told the police about the sexual abuse.

Delhi: 7-yr-old daughter of visually-impaired couple accuses class 7 & 9 girls of repeated sexual assault

The accused 19-year old studying in class 9 and a 15-year old girl of class 7 were alleged of repeatedly drugging, abusing and sexually assaulting a seven-year old girl of a visually-impaired couple. The victim, a student in class 2 complained of the ordeal which continued for 4 months on the terrace of a government school.

HC rejects plea of monk to quash sexual abuse case

The Kerala High Court has refused to quash a criminal case registered against Swami Vasupradananda, the former warden of the boys’ hostel of Sree Ramakrishna Gurukula Vidyamandir Higher Secondary School at Puranattukara, Thrissur, Kerala. He was accused of sexual assault of a boy was studying in the 5th standard and staying in the boys’ hostel. Swami Vasupradananda, now secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore was booked under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO Act) and under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code.

FIR against cops for negligence in minors’ sexual assault case

After two minor girls – a five-year old and a seven-year old, were subject to sexual abuse by the same accused, the family was forced to compromise by the police and the locals and told that the crime was not serious in nature. The police indulged in dereliction of duty and failed to register an FIR and instead oversaw a compromise even after the accused admitted the crime to the family of one of the victim’s.

Dalits, tribals form human chain seeking arrest of warden who sexually abused students

Hundreds of people from Dalit and tribal community formed a human chain in 10 major spots of Bhopal protesting against the loose and lenient implementation of child protection acts in capital. The people demanded reconsideration of these child rights laws, in lack of which, the number of cases of crime against children is rising in Bhopal.
