[The Coop] Little Children Walking Home, Locker Room Chats & Other Crises

Some Crises Are Worse Than Others

but we hope that you & your loved ones continue to persist, resist and tide it over. More power to you & Welcome to Edition 6 of The Coop.

Last week, the Aarambh folk, even as we worked from home, had an intense & eclectic ramble-chat on  the #BoisLockerRoom incident. Thoughts were expressed, positions taken, lines drawn & it even got personal. But in the aftermath, minds have expanded & it has given us a lot to mull over. Notes from incident have been collated and edited into a blog.

And that bit where it got personal, that’s when someone in the team asked if we had our priorities straight. In the middle of an unprecedented child rights & child safety crisis, it seemed like we were spending too much time discussing the online safety of a privileged few. Even when not completely agreeing, those thoughts are, in hindsight, timely & sobering. We will have news from the field soon & until then, do take a look at the short video we edited on the unfolding crisis.

We have a reading list to recommend & also, an award winning short film from Kashmir.

Short Film

Nooreh @ Viewing Room, DIFF

The Dharamshala International Film Festival has been offering free films through the lockdown. They have excellent curation & left-of-field choices. Part of their new roster is ‘Nooreh’ a fictional short film about an eight year old Kashmiri girl who believes that she has discovered a solution to end the relentless cross border firing. Best Short Film at the Busan Film Festival 2018.
