Teenager boy arrested for sexually assaulting minor girl

Rahul Singh, a 19-year old boy working in a sweet shop was arrested by the police for sexually assaulting an 8-year old girl inside the shop who was there alone to buy some snacks. The accused was alone in the shop as the owner had gone out for some work. As the girl came to the shop, he took her inside and sexually assaulted her. The girl narrated the incident to her parents after reaching home who then lodges a complaint. The accused is placed under judicial custody.

Following a complaint by a school teacher, Nagarajappa, a 49-year old police officer for sexually assaulting a minor girl at a backward classes hostel. The officer frequently visited the BCM hostel for ‘inspection’ and then used to summon the girl to his office and sexually assault her. When his visits became more frequent, the victim’s friends grew suspicious and questioned the girl who in turn revealed her ordeal to them. The medical examination of the girl proved that she was sexually assaulted.
Sexual abuse, death of 12-year-old girl; temple priest held in Kollam

A temple priest – Renju was arrested by the police for sexually abusing a 12-year old girl who was later found dead at her house in Karunagappally. The priest is said to be a paramour of the child’s mother, who confessed to the police that the VII standard student was sexually abused and was taken into police custody. The postmortem report of the victim revealed that she was subjected to unnatural sex. It later emerged that the 29-year old man was an aspiring policeman as his name was in the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) list for recruitment of police constable.
Kerala: 21-yr-old girl held under POCSO for ‘sexual assault’ on minor boy

A 21-year old girl was arrested after a complaint was lodged by the mother of 17-year old boy alleging that her son was sexually assaulted by the girl. The two were in a relationship which was built by regular contacts through Facebook and were hauled out of the boy’s home where they were staying. Medical examination confirmed that they had physical contact when they locked themselves in the room. The accused girl is in judicial custody whereas the minor boy was taken to Juvenile Justice Board.

Manikandan, a 41-year old man was arrested by the police for sexually harassing his step-daughters aged 19 and 16 years while they were sleeping at night. The abuse was going on for some time and came to light when one of the daughters called Childline. The mother of the children, who had lost her husband and married the accused was aware of the abuse but did not inform the police.
Man gets life term for raping six-year-old girl in Deesa

The special judge for POCSO S.V. Vyas of Deesa court awarded life sentence to the accused Mohanlal Rabari for raping a 6-year old girl in 2013. The court noted that he had taken advantage of the tender age of the child who could not protect herself and the quantum of sentence was decided considering the mental and physical trauma the little girl had endured. The accused lured the girl by giving her biscuits on her way back from school and took her to a secluded place in the nearby bushes and raped her. The girl was heavily bleeding when she reached home and had to be hospitalized. The accused was nabbed after the girl’s grandmother lodged a police complaint.
Trio sexually assaults minor girl in society’s basement parking

A 14-year old girl was sexually assaulted by three unidentified people in the basement parking of a housing society at Wagholi on Pune-Ahmednagar Highway. The minor was walking back home with her pet dog after having a round on the society premises when the accused pounced on her, gagged her with a cloth, dragged her to the basement and sexually assaulted her. The accused set her free after hearing the noise of a car entering the basement. The girl went home, narrated the incident to her parents who took her to a private hospital for treatment. The hospital authorities contacted the police, who then prepared the sketch of one of the suspects.
Mumbai: Man with 25 cases of sexual abuse gets life term for rape of 10-year-old

Ayyaz Mohammadali Ansari, a 33-year old man with 25 cases of sexual abuse against him was sentenced to life imprisonment. Ansari’s lawyer, Anil Jadhav mentioned in the court that there are 25 cases against Ansari including nine before the Mumbai City Civil and Sessions court of which he has been acquitted in three. According to Mumbai Police’s claim in 2014, Ansari would target girls between 7-13 years of age, tell them he knew their father or relative, take them to a secluded area and abuse them.

An Indian Engineering Services (IES) officer was sent to judicial custody for 14 days for allegedly sexually assaulting and stalking a JNU student. According to her complaint, the accused was known to her family and has been abusing her since 2012 when she was a minor. He had also allegedly made a video of the assault and threatened to upload it on social networking sites if she did not concede to his demands. The victim told the police that he even hacked her social media accounts and on one occasion tried to attack her in the JNU library.

POCSO court asks Mumbai police to trace missing girl raped by father and auto driver

A special POCSO court gave the police a week to trace a 15-year old girl who was raped by her father and an autorickshaw driver. The girl went missing in October in 2016 and was supposed to depose before the court. In October 2013, the minor was raped by the father when her mother was not at home. Meanwhile, the girl fell in love with a neighbor and decided to elope with him. However, he backed out and she was left alone. In the evening, she entered an autorickshaw and slept in it. The auto driver showed sympathy, took her home, and later raped and impregnated her.

Pandurang Sutar, a 27-year old pedophile from Navi Mumbai was sentenced to four years rigorous imprisonment by a special court for repeatedly outraging the modesty of a 5-year-old girl from the neighborhood. The man was convicted after the girl identified him and narrated the incident before the court during a three-year trial. The accused would sweet-talk her to his house and undress and abuse her on the pretext of playing a new game. After observing a sudden change in her behavior, the mother took her into confidence and made her narrate the incident.
Police hunt down rapist of 6-year-old

The accused, a 34-year old man named Mantram who worked at an eatery was arrested for sexually assaulting a 6-year old girl on Holi. The man worked near the victim’s home and on noticing the girl playing at a nearby park, sat next to her and started a conversation. After making sure no one is watching, he took her to a nearby market to buy her colors and play with her. Next, he took her took her to a secluded place and sexually assaulted her. She was found sitting in the corner of a road by the patrolling cops who got to know about the incident after questioning her. The girl identified the vehicle of the man and after a door-to-door search the accused was finally found.

After three years of sexual abuse, the man informed the 17-year old girl that he was marrying another girl chosen by his family members. The girl informed the case to her parents who then filed a complaint of sexual harassment against the man.

Sif Naik, a 21-year old man was arrested for molesting a class I student in her Dongri school. Identified on the basis of CCTV footage, an unidentified man entered a private school and went to the washroom where he found a class I student and molested her. The girl’s classmates, who were also there, were scared and raised an alarm, post which the man fled from the spot. Naik, who works in a phone’s gallery as executive was learning some online course at the same school and would visit as a part time student.

A 12-year old boy was booked for sexually assaulting an 8-year old girl of the same institution. The incident took place in the girl’s hostel room after she returned to change after playing in a water tank on the school premise. The boy followed her armed with a wooden stick and sexually assaulted her. The girl fainted after the assault. However, the boy waited for her to regain consciousness and thrashes her with the stick, terrifying her to keep mum. After the school authorities noticed her injuries and alerted her parents, she was taken home by her aunt and the girl revealed the incident to her. The accused is detained and sent to a correction home.
Mumbai: Man gets life term for raping 15-yr-old girl

A special court sentenced a 44-year old man to life imprisonment for sexually abusing the 15-year old daughter of his live-in partner. The accused had abused the girl twice in 2013 and had called the police falsely naming two people for the assault to save himself. The girl’s mother and siblings moved out of their home after a dispute with the father and started living with the accused. After the victim’s mother passed away, she was forced to leave her education and made to work as a domestic help by the accused. One day when they were alone at home, he raped her and threatened to kill the younger brother if she revealed it to anyone. He committed the same act again after a few days and called the police falsely implicating the two people. The police, however, suspected the involvement of the accused.

Man gets life term for abusing daughters

A 48-year old man was sentenced to life imprisonment for repeated sexual abuse of his two minor daughters, aged 16 and 17 years, over a period of two years. He court ruled that the prison term will remain effective for the rest of his life. The convict’s wife, who worked as a domestic help, lodged an FIR after the act became unbearable for the eldest daughter who narrated the experience to her mother. The accused, a telephone operator with a private firm would sexually abuse the daughters when his wife would be away from home at work.

After an unidentified CRPF/police personnel entered a house at Chintagufa village of Sukma district looking out for a man, purportedly a Maoist sympathiser, and raped his 15-year-old sister, the NHRC issued notices to the Centre and Chhattisgarh police chief. The girl and her mother are kept in custody by the police as they are under severe pressure to change the statement. The Commission observed that if the allegations are true, it will be a violation of human rights.

A 19-year old boy was caught and arrested at 2:30 am after a complaint was filed against him at 12 midnight for sexually abusing his neighbor’s 6-year old daughter in Powai. The accused used to visit minor’s house frequently and at time of incident she was alone after her mother left to buy household materials and seeking opportunity he asked her 5-year old sibling to go guy chocolate. The minor’s mother filed the complaint after she found the house locked from inside and the accused opened the door half-dressed after repeated knocking. He then fled the locality and the class I student narrated the incident to her mother.
2 migrant workers held on charge of abusing minor

Two migrants, natives from Naugon district in Assam were arrested by the police for sexually abusing a 14-year old girl. The abuse came to light when the girl was subjected to a counselling by Childline activists on a request by her school authorities. After the session, it emerged that the accused, including the victim’s father had abused her on several occasions. The police are also searching for a local resident named Tony who was in a relationship with her and allegedly molested her. The investigation also revealed that the victim was raped by another person, presumed to be a friend of the father.

JNV teacher terminated for sexual abuse

Vishwajit Jha, a government school teacher who taught PGT Physics at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya School in Nongstoin was terminated from his service after it emerged that he had sexually harassed his students. During a routine inspection, the victim girls came forward to report the matter to one of the Executive Magistrates and after the committee confirmed the harassment, he was terminated immediately.
9-year-old mentally challenged abused in Sonipat

The accused, Rajiv Kumar Kakka Rattu was arrested from near the railway station by the police and sent to judicial custody for sexually abusing a 9-year old mentally challenged girl. The victim, a daughter of a daily wager, was playing with her sister when the accused lured the victim and took her to an empty plot near the house. After some neighbors spotted the accused and the victim, they informed the girl’s parents who arrived at the spot of the incident. The accused managed to flee the spot while leaving the victim there.

A 12-year old girl accused a man for raping, beating and pushing her and her mother into begging. Although the accused man calls himself her stepfather but the girl dismissed the claim stating that the man is a cheat who lured her and her mentally unsound mother with the promise of a better life from Haridwar. According to her, the man forced them into begging during daytime and assaulted and raped her and her mother during nighttime. The incident came to light when a nurse saw the girl being pulled across the floor by the accused and his landlord, both were drunk. She then informed the representative of ‘Shanti Shiksha and Nari Utthan Samiti’, an NGO working for the cause of women who in turn, informed the police.

Prameshwar alias Barmya Sahebrao Salve, a 25-year old sugar cane cutter was sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment under the POCSO Act by the additional sessions court in Majalgaon taluka of Beed district. After a complaint was lodged by a 14-year old girl, the accused was found guilty on three counts – sexual harassment, threatening the minor with dire consequences and under the POCSO Act.

Sudam Ghogre, a 21-year old man pursuing HSC and working as a part-time mechanic at a city-based garage was arrested by the police within 24 hours and produced in the local court with the charge sheet after a complaint lodged by the minor. As per the complaint, she was stopped by the accused on her way to the school who threatened to kill her parents if she didn’t accompany him to his house. He took her to his house and made sexual advances towards her. After the victim cried for help and pleaded he let her go. The minor girl narrated the incident to her parents after reaching home who then filed a complaint.

The perpetrator – a 40-year old man was arrested for molesting his 10-year old daughter for the last three years. The girl was living in a rented house with her 7-year old brother and his father, a laborer after the girl’s mother died three years ago. The father used to return home drunk every night and molested the girl. He threatened to kill her whenever she opposed. The father took the kids to a village, fled with the boy and abandoned the victim. The police traced them to a nearby village and sent the accused to judicial custody. The girl with her brother was sent to shelter home.
School Bus Driver Misbehaves with Children

A school bus driver Mohammed Ayub was arrested by the police after parents complained about sexual abuse. School children were scared of the driver but narrated the incident to their parents who then approached the school principal. After the principal brushed away the matter on the pretext that the operation of school buses does not come under their administration and refused to take action, the parents collectively reached out to the police.

For sexually assaulting a 13-year old school girl – an FIR was ordered against a woman police officer, her Hindi teacher was arrested and the girl’s stepfather was booked as well. In an eight month long ordeal, when her Hindi teacher would pass remarks laced with sexual innuendos and had once allegedly groped her. The school authorities denied the charges and said that the girl was abused at home by her stepfather. The stepfather alleged that he was “forced” to put his thumb impression on a “confession” that he was molesting the girl. The woman police officer forced the girl to go through the two-finger test.
Tuition teacher gets three years imprisonment for molesting girl

A 49-year old tuition teacher was convicted and sentenced to three years imprisonment for molesting a 7-year old girl at his home in December 2014. In her statement the victim said that she used to visit the tuition teacher’s house and play with his toddler daughter. On the day of the incident, the accused took her to his room latched the door from inside, made her to lie down on the bed and repeatedly touched her inappropriately. She managed to escape the scene, reported the incident to her mother and a complaint was lodged. The police had said the girl was taught by her mother to scream and run if someone attacked her in that manner.

The survivor’s father has also registered a complaint with the Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KeSCPCR) regarding the issue.

Sushant Dubey, a 24-year old man was sentenced to 15 years rigorous imprisonment for raping a 15-year old girl and his mother Mamata Dubey was awarded 10 years for abetting the crime. The victim and her elder sister worked at Dubey’s driving school. In 2013, Mamata requested the victim’s mother to send the girl to live with them and help her with household work as she was unwell. A few days later her son raped the girl when she was alone at home. The accused raped her on several occasions and his mother threatened to kill her if she disclosed this to anyone.
Duo gets 20 years in jail for gang-raping 15-year-old girl

Two accused – Yogesh Natha Walunj aged 26 and Raviraj Damu Gaikwad aged 30 were sentenced to 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment for raping a 15-year old Class X student. A total of Rs. 21000 fine was also imposed on the convicts. The girl had left the home following a quarrel with her mother. She spent time walking before realizing that it was getting dark and she must return home. She asked for a lift till Bhosari, when the accused saw her and agreed to take her home. Instead, they took her to an isolated open plot and raped her in the car till midnight. Police constables on a night patrol saw the car and on questioning the girl it emerged that she had been raped.
Parents protest against sexual assault on six-yr-old daughter

In April, an 8-year old girl was raped by Bablu Singh Bisht, a 27-year old resident of Lalkuan in Nainital district. He was on the run. Parents of the girl, along with other city residents staged a protest outside a private school in Haldwani demanding the immediate arrest of the accused, a staff member of the school. The protest was called off after the accused was arrested by the police.

The Delhi Court ordered an FIR against a woman police officer for sexually assaulting a girl and also pulled up an ACP for referring the complaint to the public grievance cell instead of directing the SHO of Mongolpuri police station to register an FIR. The victim girl had come to the police to register a molestation complaint against a teacher, instead the woman officer threatened the father of the girl that the girl would be medically re-examined or would be implicated in a false case. It was also alleged that the officer sexually assaulted her and later took her to a hospital, where the doctors conducted an internal medical examination without the girl’s consent.

Jahangir Khan and Mohd Osman were arrested by the police for raping a 15-year old girl on different occasions. Osman, a native of Humnabad in Karnataka had shifted to Hyderabad and was working at the welding shop run by Jahangir and also used to stay at his house. Osman had befriended the victim and they entered into a physical relationship. One day, Jahangir went to the girl’s house and threatened her that he had photos and videos of her and Osman in a compromising position and that he would upload them on various online platforms. He blackmailed her to have sex with him. Next day, he took the girl to a hotel and raped her. The girl confided in her family members, who lodged a police complaint.

The accused – a 30-year old laborer, father of 3 children was arrested by the police for raping a 2-and-a-half-year old girl living in his neighborhood for 5-6 days. The incident came to light when the victim’s seven-year-old brother saw the accused taking the girl to his house and forcing himself on his sister. He then raised an alarm after which the police was informed. The girl had complained to her parents of stomach pain, but could not convey her ordeal to them.

Ankit, a 20-year old man accused of raping a 2-year old girl in 2015 and out on bail, was arrested again for sexually assaulting a 5-year old child, his neighbor’s daughter. The accused lured the 5-year old minor with the promise of chocolate, took her to a vacant flat and raped her. After learning that the girl was lying unconscious in a vacant plot adjacent to a school, the father took her to a private hospital and learned that she had been sexually assaulted. The girl identified the accused after the police nabbed him and brought him in front of the child. Ankit is a serial sex offender and was released on bail just one and a half months ago.
