A 26-year old Ambernath labourer was arrested by the police for sodomising a 17-year old girl in a Badlapur forest and posting the assault video on Facebook. The accused – Malik, had confessed to the crime and the police were examining his social media accounts to help prevent the video from being circulated.
Auto driver arrested under POCSO Act

The police arrested an auto driver named Ashraf, 33, a resident of Kamabalabettu for sexually assaulting a high school student while she was on the way back from a shop after buying groceries. Ashraf told the girl to get into his vehicle and he would drop her back home. While on the way, Ashraf sexually assaulted her. The incident came to light when the girl was hesitant to go to school and said she didn’t want to go anywhere. After repeatedly asking her the reason, she revealed the incident to her parents.

A case has been registered against sub-inspector Aswith S. Karanmayil for failing to register a case under POCSO and starting legal action against those accused of sexual crimes against children. The Pathanamthitta district police chief informed this to the Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights after the sub-inspector refused to take the statement of a 13-year-old-girl who had complained of misbehavior by her neighbor and being forced to pose for compromising pictures.

Hukmichand Gameti, a 24-year old man was sentenced to life imprisonment after he sexually assaulted a 5-year old girl in a jungle and later strangled her to death to hide the evidence. The complaint was filed by the victim’s uncle after the accused took 3 children along with the victim to drop them from their home to Nanihal in the afternoon.

Two minors, aged 14 and 11 years, have been sent to a government shelter home for sodomising a 10-year-old boy. They carried the victim on a bicycle on the pretext of playing football and sexually exploited him at an abandoned house. After being abandoned by the duo, the survivor reached home and narrated his ordeal to his mother, who lodged a police complaint. The 14-year old accused was an eyewitness of a similar case at his school around one-and-a-half years ago, where the peon had sodomized a minor student inside the class room.
Swimming teacher gets 3-yr jail for sexual assault of student

5-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Sexually Assaulted, Dumped On Roadside In Bengaluru

A 5-year old girl was sexually assaulted and dumped in a semi-conscious state on the road side. The girl suffered several injuries on her genitals, scalp and her ring finger had been amputated. The girl’s mother was traced by the police who informed that the girl had gone out of the tent in which they were staying to attend to nature’s call and did not return. The girl was in a state of shock and a bit disoriented following her statement a case was registered.

The police charged a 14-year old boy for sodomising a fellow schoolmate – a Class VI student after taking him to the bushes. Both are students of a government school and after the victim revealed the incident to his father, a complaint was lodged. The accused boy has not been apprehended so far.

The Trustee of a school, a German – origin Indian who was living in India for about 25 to 30 years, was booked by Mumbai Police for sexually abusing a boy and a girl, both about 3.5 years old inside the school premises. A female teacher, who took the kids to the trustee’s office, has also been reportedly named in the case. The accused trustee has fled to Germany.

The complaint was registered by the boy’s mother after a video of the incident showing the accused inserting an iron rod into the boy’s anus went viral on the social media.

Three people – bus conductor Perumal (22), bus drivers Manivannan (33) and Murugan (35), were arrested for raping a 15-year old girl in a bus at Narayanampalayam. The girl studying in Class X had a quarrel with her parents and boarded a private bus. She travelled in the bus throughout the day. When the last trip was over, it was 10.30 pm. But the girl stayed put. The bus conductor befriended the girl and sensed an opportunity. Around 1:30 am, she escaped and ran to a village where she raised an alarm. The villagers attacked the conductor and drivers and handed them to the police.

The police arrested a 25-year old accused who started undressing two minors on the pretext of teaching them to box and tackle monsters. One of the minors is his 11-year old niece whereas the other was her 12-year old friend. The accused started undressing the two and asked them to sit on his lap. One of the victims kicked him and the children fled the scene. The accused threatened them, saying he would hurt them if they revealed the incident to anyone. However, the girl kept meeting her uncle and finally broke down and told her mother what had happened. After the case was registered, the police nabbed the accused from his house.

Worker booked for raping Class XI girl

A case has been registered under POCSO against a worker for sexually assaulting a Class XI student who had delivered and abandoned a premature baby at Tondiarpet. The decomposed body of the infant was recovered by the police and the minor was traced using the CCTV footage. The girl’s parents told police that they were unaware of her pregnancy but that she had delivered the fetus in the bathroom when she was alone at home.

The woman said that she had met the accused in the market a few months ago and after befriending him, the man came to her house one day, raped her, filmed the incident and started blackmailing her. A few days later, he sexually harassed her minor daughter and filmed the act. The woman, then filed the complaint and police are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
Delhi: Juvenile held for sexually assaulting 10-year-old girl in Mangolpuri

Delhi police took into custody a 17-year old juvenile for sexually assaulting a 10-year old girl who considered him a brother. The girl’s grandmother sent her to bring groceries from a nearby shop, when she was confronted by the boy who took her with him on the pretext that his mother is calling her. He then sexually assaulted her and also threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the crime to anybody. The victim, however, narrated the incident to her grandmother after reaching the home who then lodged a complaint. The accused was apprehended from his residence and sent to a juvenile home.
‘Uncle’, aunt arrested after minor alleges rape

A 16-year old girl, living in a children’s home after she was assaulted and raped by her neighbor two years ago, reported that an ‘uncle’ had also raped her repeatedly. A 50-year old man, whom she addressed as uncle raped her multiple times and her aunt abetted the crime by asking the girl by forcing her in his room and forcing her to keep it quiet. A 36-year old man was thrashed by family members of the victim and local residents and handed over to the police after it emerged that he had raped a 4-year old girl. The accused, who is also a neighbor of the victim, returned home in an inebriated state and saw the child playing outside her house. He took the girl to his room on the second floor of their residential building on the pretext of giving her sweets and raped her. The crime came to fore when the child returned home crying and narrated her ordeal to her parents, who rushed her to a nearby hospital where the sexual assault was confirmed.

Two cases under the POCSO law were registered by Nasik Police and in both incidents the age of the victims was around seven years. In the first case, an unknown person was booked for sexually assaulting a 5-year old girl. The incident came to light when the girl was missing and a case of kidnapping was registered. The child was later found near the house and after inquiry she narrated her ordeal and a case of sexual assault under POCSO was registered.
In another incident, the police booked a youth for sexual assault and harassment of a 7-year old girl who was playing in the garden. According to the police, the youth took the girl to the corner of the park and showed her pornographic content before sexually harassing her. The child narrated the entire incident to her parents who then approached the police.

Yagnesh Gaud, a 35-year old man was apprehended by the police for raping a 16-year old girl. The victim approached the police to file a complaint against the accused and stated that he raped her between June 7 and 9, at a hotel. She further stated that he threatened to harm her brother and other family members and compelled her to accompany him on his vehicle after which he took her to the hotel and raped her.

Akhter Ahmed, uncle of an 8-year old who had sexually assaulted the girl several times before she fled was sentenced to five years’ RI and a fine of Rs. 10000. The Delhi court relied on the child’s crayon sketches to convict him two years after the crime. During the hearing, the girl was given paper and crayons to keep her occupied. She sketched an abandoned house, a girl holding balloons attached to entwined strings, and a dress lying beside her. She filled the drawings with ‘gloomy’ colors. Additional sessions judge Vinod Yadav regarded the sketches as the child’s impression of her ordeal.
3 minors depose, send two molesters to jail

Two men, one of them an uncle of the victim, were sentenced to three years in jail for molesting three minor boys and showing them obscene videos. The abuse came to light after the mother of one of the boys saw them indulging in inappropriate behavior and alerted the other parents. The victim revealed to his father that two months ago, the 35-year-old accused had taken him and two other boys to one of the houses in the building and molested them.

A 32-year old man was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment for repeatedly sexually assaulting a 9-year old girl. The girl was returning from a vacation in Bhusawal where the train caught fire and she sustained injuries on her stomach and back and was admitted in the hospital. The victim’s mother said the girl was later shifted to the sixth floor of the hospital in the elevator, in which the accused too was present. The mother said after reaching the ward, the child told her the accused had molested her in the elevator. The mother then lodged a complaint with the cops.

The Hubballi Police have arrested two persons, including a Janata Dal (Secular) leader, in connection with a case of reported kidnap and rape of a minor girl from Belagavi district in Hubballi. The minor girl was waiting for her boyfriend at the Hubballi Bus Station to go to Karwar on the night of May 5, when the accused had taken her to a lodge on the pretext of helping her. The police have found this girl during their routine raid and handed her over to her parents. However the girl eloped with her boyfriend, her parents registered a missing case in the police station. On investigation both of them were traced in Goa, the team brought them back .Based on the statement of the child the accused was arrested.

The incident took place in 2014, when the accused took the victim to a lake and sexually assaulted her.
Two detained for sexual abuse bid in kids’ home

Two people were arrested by the Ghatkopar police for sexually abusing and torturing a 15-year old boy for the past 6 months. One of the accused is the uncle of the teenager who brought the boy from UP with the promise of work and good education. The victim was sexually assaulted regularly and was made to work long hours without food and water. The boy managed to flee the place and landed up at a hotel. The hotel owner alerted the police after the boy begged for food saying he had been hungry for a long time.
Supervisor gets life for raping 4-year-old student

A 35-year old school supervisor was sentenced to life imprisonment by a special POCSO Court. He was arrested in December 2014 for raping a 4-year old junior KG student. The accused had taken the victim to a toilet in the school premises and sexually assaulted her. On reaching home, she complained to her family members of pain in her stomach. She then refused to go to school. Later, her grandmother noticed a change in behavior. While enquiring with the child, she told her about the assault. The child was taken to hospital and treated for the pain.
Sexual assault of minor: Delhi HC upholds trial court verdict

The accused, Hunny, a 23-year old man was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for sexually assaulting a 5-year old girl. The sentence was upheld by Delhi High Court when the girl described her sexual assault with the help of a doll. The incident occurred on July 21, 2014, when the accused sexually assaulted the five-year-old after kidnapping her. During the statement, the girl did not answer “embarrassing questions” regarding the nature of the offence but “categorically pointed out” what the accused had done to her by referring to a doll in her hand.

A 17-year old girl from Trichy was forced to pass on nude photographs of herself to a boy her age. The boy was arrested by the police. The girl had been operating a Facebook account with a fake identity for years. When she received a friendship request from an account in the name of a woman, she accepted it and they began sharing of messages on Facebook. One day she received a message from the person stating that he was from cyber crime cell working to ferret out fake Facebook accounts. He told her that he was willing to let her off if she sent nude photographs of herself to his private chat. She accepted the deal and sent him the photos. However, she received the same request from another profile and then brought the incident to the notice of her parents, who then filed a complaint.

P Balasubramani of Komarapalayam in Namakkal district was sentenced to life term imprisonment for raping his daughter. He started to sexually abuse the daughter after his wife underwent a uterus operation and used to make her drink liquor till she became inebriated and then raped the daughter. The victim was a class 8 student who had to undergo abortion thrice. The girl narrated the incident to her aunty who alerted Childline who then sent her to the hospital where sexual abuse was confirmed.
Youth gets three-year jail for sexually harassing girl

Prasad Balasaheb Sakore, a 21-year old youth was sentenced to three years’ rigorous imprisonment for sexually harassing a Class X girl in October, 2015. Judge Murumkar directed the state government to pay Rs 10,000 compensation to the victim under the provisions of POCSO Act. The officials at the Pabal police chowkey refused to take cognizance of her complaint in spite the victim’s grandfather’s call to them soon after the incident. The victim and the grandfather had to travel 15km to lodge an FIR five days later. The accused had cited this delay in FIR as one of his defense. However, the court described the police response as “lethargic” and observed that the victim shall not suffer for mistakes committed by police officials.

Suresh Sharma, a 67-year old man was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment by Ahmedabad district special POCSO judge PA Patel. A fine of Rs. 20000 was also imposed and failing to pay it, the convict will have to undergo an additional three years of imprisonment. Sharma owned a mobile phone recharge shop in the victim’s locality and lured her on the pretext of giving her a chocolate and touched her inappropriately. The judge also directed police commissioner to take action against then Sabarmati PSI KM Chhasia for negligence in probing the matter.

A 17-year old girl poisoned herself and died in the hospital after she was raped on several occasions by her uncle over four months. The accused is from Jamshedpur and used to visit the victim’s house in Gurgaon frequently and had invited her over to Jamshedpur for summer vacations this year. The girl had complained of persistent pain in her private parts but no doctor was able to diagnose the problem. After much coaxing and a few months, the victim revealed that her grandfather had fiddled with her private parts when they were visiting Jamshedpur. The aghast family initially tried to look away, but eventually the mother decided to approach cops.
