17th June: POCSO On The Ground Edition 7
On Wednesday 17th June 2020, Prerana in partnership with UNICEF cordially invite you to the 7th edition of ‘POCSO on the Ground’ (POTG).
It is titled Working with Child Victims and Families of Sexual Offences during COVID 19 – Evolving Roles and Challenges.
At a time when child victims of sexual offences and families are facing increased vulnerabilities and a host of additional stressors, we envisage a collective discussion on ways to evolve & adapt our roles and strategies so that we can effectively respond to the needs and requirements of the victims & families.
The attempt of this edition is to keep with the times. In that effort, it will cover the following areas:
1. Understanding challenges and experiences of various stakeholders working with child victims of sexual abuse and their families during the pandemic and the lockdown
2. The Status of POCSO Cases since the Courts have gone into lockdown
3. Contextualizing the role of the Support Person under POCSO in the light of these new circumstances
4. Understanding the evolving mental health needs of child victims as they deal with current uncertainties & anxieties
5. Collating potential solutions and best practices of working on the ground during this time
Please do join us and help enrich the platform with your voices and insights.
