16th April, Mumbai: POCSO on The Ground Edition 6

On Tuesday 16th April 2019 Prerana in partnership with UNICEF cordially invites you to the 6th edition of ‘POCSO on the Ground’ (POTG). 

The focus of this edition is to reflect on the scope and depth of the on-ground work of a support person under POCSO Act, 2012.  From across districts of Maharashtra, individuals appointed as support persons in cases of sexual offenses against children as well stakeholders who have worked with them will be present to reflect on their experiences, challenges, confusions, merits & gaps.

Through this consultation, we are looking to clarify key questions that keep coming up while working on the ground – Who can be a support person? What is their mandate?  How can the stakeholders make use of this provision? How can the position of a support person be made sustainable within the systems?

Please join us at this open discussion, share your experiences and points of view and help enrich the discussion and debate.

POCSO On The Ground

Started in 2015, ’POTG’ is an interactive and open discussion series that has consistently brought to light various challenges faced by civil society organizations and individuals while working with child victims of sexual offenses under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012.
