Reporting The Reports: Statistics from India’s Internet Hotline (Sept 2016 to June 2017)
Since the launch the portal has received 534 reports from users across India.
54 of these reports were found to contain Child Sexual Abuse Imagery.
40 Reports contained or linked to content that contained Category A child sexual abuse imagery – the most severe kind that encompasses penetrative sexual assault.
5 Reported links Featured only Male Children.
29 Reported Links Featured only Female Children.
20 Featured Children of both Sexes.
69% of the positive CSAM reports featured children below the age of 6 years
93% of positive CSAM reports featured children below the age of 10 years.
USA hosted 26 of the reported links, followed by Russia with 14, France with 3, Netherlands & India with 2 and Romania & Germany with 1. 1 was a link to the dark web.
